I remember there was a town in Arizona called Why. Pretty self-explanatory there, there was barely nothing there.
Another place was called Tortilla Flats, population 8. An old Hollywood set that now hosts a post office and a small store/restaurant. Most of the buildings there are fake fronts, you can walk through the front doors and right back into the desert.
