I am The Moon

The Moon is the light of the realm of the unknown - the world of shadow and night. Although this place is awesome, it does not have to be frightening. In the right circumstances, the Moon inspires and enchants. It holds out the promise that all you imagine can be yours. The Moon guides you to the unknown so you can allow the unusual into your life.

So President Bush wants our neighbors to drop by and show their support of our troops? GACK - why on earth would I want that? These are the same idiot neighbors who voted for Dubya in the first place, have those insipid yellow ribbons on their gas guzzling SUVs and put US flags on every surface.

At this rate, I'm going to have to put a sign up at the front of the driveway that says: "Support this military family by bringing our troops home!"

I swear if one idiot shows up on my doorstop, I'm siccing the dogs on them!

We've finally gotten a project started in the large rock/zen garden out front - a spiral walk delineated by beach stones. So far its only five revolutions, but the plan is to have folks bring and leave a rock each time they visit. One of the neighborhood kids declared it was "cool" and I noticed this morning our spiral walk is growing a few rocks a day due to his summer vacation.

Speaking of household projects -
Hubby decided to go weedwhack Monday morning while I was sleeping in - somehow forgot to take his allergy meds and/or wear a filter mask - so you guessed it: ER VISIT with tons of x-rays, two breathing treatments, blood tests and the like, heart and blood gas monitoring only to find out his lungs shut down due to a reaction to the fuel and weeds. So no more yard work for him and a week's worth of rescue inhalant. Now, I very much liked having him home for a four day weekend, since he was relieved of duty Monday and Tuesday, but NOT for health reasons. I'd also like to note that having hubby home for an extra two days left the house a bloody disaster - just in time for Alicia (Wastedmouthful) and Seb to visit. ARGH

Just for the count - this is his fourth ER visit this calendar year. I'm starting to get nervous about his wayward health concerns that keep sending us back to the ER. There's something ironic about how the Diabetic in the house (moi) has had 2 ER visits after my idiot doctor lowered my glucophage and the healthy one (him) has had FOUR trips.

Yeah, and I'm still arguing with the doc over lowering my glucophage...I spoke to the "Diabetes Coordinator" who agreed my gluco should be raised back to 1000 mg, so he's going to talk to my doc and if she disagrees with him, he'll write the script himself.

What a F*cking week...oh well, Stitch & Bitch is being held here tomorrow and Friday - so on to bigger and brighter.

Many of you know I'm a Star Trek Next Gen fan - especially of Wil Wheaton (Wesley was a bit of a pain, but like Dr. Doogie Howser, we WANTED him), so today I'm catching up on his blog (www.wilwheaton.net) and found THIS.

Too f*cking cool...this project rocks and was the kind of idiot project my old boss would have liked to give me - while not paying me the ten hours it took this guy to do it!
