I'm such a meanie
Jan. 14th, 2007 12:51 pmDanielle moved out this morning, though we're bound to have her back once in awhile, depending on where the agency needs her. She took Guenther, but left a few things around the house. Going to be strange not having her and a fifth dog around the house, odd as that sounds given the situation. I haven't quite decided what to do with the Den, if I should leave it empty until we're ready to start the nursery (which seems a bit of a bad idea, frankly) or backfill it to ease up congestion in the rest of the house.
I'm working in the bookstore with Flash, who is absolutely adorable napping in a sunbeam and shmoozing the customers. Wanted to give him a nice distraction so he doesn't realize his best friend Guenther is gone. He'll pout for awhile, I know, but hopefully the sun will continue to burn off the snow and he'll be out chasing cottontails soon with Gracie.
As a store dog, Flash is the best. Friendly, effusive, always happy to see folks. His huge head looking out the front windows and wagging his tail at folks walking by as he stands on his back feet, those jumbo front paws resting on the low windowsill - he's quite the sight! He's already brought in three folks who didn't mean to come by and two of them bought books! (Yes, I shamelessly use our basset puppy to promote the business!)
Poor little guy, we make him work for his kibble.
