State of the Tryst Inn
Mar. 20th, 2008 11:55 amYesterday was an incredibly successful work day here at the Tryst Inn. Deb and I managed to get new drapes hung in both the Living Room (light sage) and Sun Room, aka my Office, (light tan). Our only problem arose when one of the curtain rods was broken, and when returning it we realized they didn't have any others. Damn. Now we wait three weeks for them to get more in. I managed to get Josh's tools put back in the workshop, which seriously needs yet another cleaning and organizing job. *gnashes teeth*
We also re-arranged the entire Living Room into what I hope is a setup that will work for folks. Its much more inviting now, as the room faces the front door, and we've somehow managed to make room for more seating around the coffee table. Its very cozy and inviting, a real conversation room. Sadly, all attempts to find a charming little cafe table and chairs for the Sun Room were moot. Nobody had anything even close: I want old world charm, not modern minimalism.
Today we've got a hell of a lot more to do, mostly errand running: a run to the dump for garbage and recycling, drop off donation items to WAIF's thrift shop, etc.
In other news, we have a new rabbit living in the front yard. Sadly, its a domestic feral not another cottontail. A beautiful little dutch bunny. Dutchie, as we've started calling him/her, loves to visit our Bunhalla buns. We've been trying to catch Dutchie without any luck but will keep trying. I'd hate to think folks are abandoning rabbits in my yard because they know I will take care of them, so I'm choosing to think Dutchie sought us out.
