New Woofer in the Family
Jan. 10th, 2009 12:48 pmThe Island has a thriving dog community. It's not unusual to know more about someone's dog than you know about the person. We drive around with our dogs, we shop with our dogs and we play at one of a 1/2 dozen off-leash parks together. Whidbey Island is a dog's paradise - if only it would stop raining!
Kevin and Kathy Mack are getting their first dog in nearly two decades. Given Kevin's recent retirement and their first home purchase, they are finally in a position to take care for a dog. Difficulties lie in two factoids: a) the Macks have six cats and b) the dog will need to get along with our dogs.
After carefully reviewing shelter profiles, I found one that was perfect and let Kevin know. After calling me "spooky" and "evil", they went down and fell in love with "Buddy":

We're waiting with baited breath for Josh and Kevin to return from picking him up at the shelter this afternoon. I'm so excited for them, you'd think we were getting a dog. But in a way, we are. We spend most of our free time with the Macks and so do our dogs.
I'm not allowed to go to the shelter, btw. Apparently, they've got puppies. 0____o
