Friday

Josh came home yesterday for a three day weekend, yay! We spent much of the afternoon, tooting around on the motorcycle, shopping at the Farmer's Market, etc. Decided to head home and swap out the MC for the van to go to the Drive In. Ran into a half dozen friends there, but ended up on the side off on our own to get away from the screeching kids.

There's something beautiful about sitting there under the stars and watching the Moon progress across the sky. To the northwest, there's a lavender glow of light off in the distance between the tall trees and the twinkling planes of the Naval Air Station circle overhead the brightness. East of there, just beyond the trees, is Crescent Harbor, you can smell the ocean air on the breeze. We didn't stay long enough to see the Northern Lights, but all in all, a lovely night.

Josh is off with the dogs to pick up Kevin and bring him back. They are going to attack more Alders and trim the bushes along the south property line. I hope they get around to trimming off the lower bare branches of the Firs around the Circle, but I get the feeling they are looking forward to playing with the chainsaw more. As par for the course, I may yet end up trimming the branches myself. If there wasn't a burn ban, we'd be lighting up the bonfire this weekend with all the yard debris we've got piled up here.

Tomorrow is our big trip to the School Bus Derby in Monroe. Should be a heck of a show, I'll be wearing ear plugs. :)
