Organizing myself
Oct. 18th, 2009 10:51 amFor what it's worth, I've apparently reached some sort of equilibrium between my OCD meds, the increased dosage of Glucophage XR and the modified South Beach diet because not only am I raring to get things done but I feel good enough to do them! That distinction has almost always been a problem for me, in one way or another.
Yesterday, Josh and I did a bit of shopping to organize the critter shed. New feed bins were purchased, a bucket for carrying feed with a narrow profile for ease in pouring into feeders, a bin for the cheekins special products (electrolytes, etc.). At the feedstore we managed to find most of what the cheekins need (Keastree, the DE was in the pesticide section), including grit and a small feeder to free supply it for the cheekins. I've pulled a gallon apple juice bottle with carrying strap out of the recycling bin to use for their specially treated water. I really do need to order a copy of Storey's Guide to Raising Chickens, I'm still feeling grossly unprepared to raise the gals.
Home Despot was a dangerous trip - we bought black paint for the kitchen cabinets, sand-colored paint for both porches and exterior doors and hopefully most of what Josh needs to install the dishwasher. It remains to be seen how that goes, he's fully immersed in watching the military channel at present.
Libby and Boo have finally made peace, they are napping within 6 feet of each other. Boo is missing his dad, Kevin, but he's truly happy to be here with his buddy Doodle and being around our funny little hobby farm seems to perk him up. I always love seeing an old dog stimulated by new experiences and he'll have two weeks of that to wear him out.
