The Weekend of Wheeling and Dealing
Feb. 7th, 2010 10:07 pmThe two cockerels are off to be interviewed for the position of flock rooster. Likely one will be returning, but we'll worry about that later. Looks like I've managed to sell off the three Black Copper Maran adolescent pullets, they are scheduled to be picked up tomorrow. The two little BCM pullets in the brooder are promised, as well, and will be picked up on Wednesday. This should give us a little more space and time for the new coop to be built, as well as plenty of room for the hatchery chicks coming in March.
Dillinger continues to recover quite well. Healthy new pink skin is growing in, as well as new feathers. He's likely wondering where his brothers are, poor guy. Things will likely bit a bit rough for him with just the Rhodies, though they seem to be eating together at the communal feeder quite well now.
I'm very happy to report that I managed to get both Hex's cage and the brooder cleaned out this afternoon. I did use all of the Barn Dry pellets, so that's been added to the market list.
