Gratitude post

trystinnToday I'm grateful for Deb, who somehow manages to put up with me to the power of two: once as a friend, twice as a neighbor.
Deb and I are about as different as two women can be. I have a very low tolerance for excuses, Deb seems to thrive on them. I'm very much a let's pull this all together and get it done with and Deb is a procrastinator. I moved across the country to get away from my parents, she moved across the country to take care of her newly disabled mother. Yet, somehow, we make it work.
Yesterday she came over and helped me re-arrange the furniture in the living room. Again. As folks who have been here know, its an oddly shaped living room with literally only one full wall to the East. The North wall is comprised of three windows, set at angles. The West is a half wall with two interior windows and an entrance on either side. The South wall doesn't exist - its the entrance to the foyer. Throwing one three seater sofa, one huge long coffee table, a computer desk and computer rack, a sofa table, two lounge chairs, lamp table, tv and a bookcase all in what is a relatively small space is a feat of near heroic proportions. Thankfully, I played Tetris growing up!
Poor Deb. This is roughly the 5th incarnation of my living room since she moved into the neighborhood. And worse yet, she's stuck running errands with me this afternoon!
