Poultry Math - Ongoing (aka I'm cranky, today!)

Miraculously, someone actually came over to buy six pullets today. Oh, everyone's so very interested until you get a few emails in to the financial arrangements where you ask for a specific time (or time frame) for the pick up. Then it's silence not-so-golden on the other end. Or worse yet, they do set a date and time then they never show. You get some half-assed apology via email or phone, then they try to set another appointment. How about no? Is no good for you?

Figured dropping them 1/3 of the asking price would gain more interest and it did. However, at the discounted price I was only willing to sell the Partridge Rocks and Orpingtons (the ones I got for free) for that price. I'm certainly not selling the Araucanas for $10 each, there's too much interest in them in the market here. I'll wait another month and try again at $20 each. This leaves me with the two Rhodies and 9 pullets, which buys me some more time to expand the coop and pen.

I've got another buyer who wants to buy the Swede/Khaki Campbell mixes and the Chocolate Anconas. I'm willing to throw in the 4 Indian Runner ducks as a bonus, after all I got them for free myself. That's 8 ducks leaving Saturday, which will leave me with 10. 10 should be more than enough for us and our friends, plus a few additional customers. If not, I can call the Runner breeder down Island and nab a couple more ducks for free.
