Well, crap
The Poultry Gods have aligned against me. Apparently even though I'm attending the Evergreen Fair SUNDAY, the chickens have already left as of Friday. I really wanted to see those chickens, damnit! I may just bring a few carriers in the vain hope somebody by the side of the road will sell me a chicken or three. Or some chicks. Anything! *bang head on desk*
Speaking of, work progresses on the incubator. And by that, I mean the guys keep buying more crap and loading it onto my dining room table. The incubator project is now roughly the size of my entire dining room. Whether this thing is going to work anytime soon, I have no idea. In the spirit of positive thinking, I went ahead and ordered some eggs. I may grab Ruby's clutch and pop them in the incubator just to get her out of the damn brooding pen. She looks miserable. I'm sure my crazed checking isn't helping her any. I keep reminding myself that the earliest we knew of that clutch was on the 18th of August, so the soonest we'd know anything would be the middle of next week.
Speaking of ornery Rhodies, Scarlett has gone missing. She's likely brooding somewhere I haven't found yet, so we haven't quite given up on her yet. There's a thousand places to hide a chicken in our backyard and they do seem to find every place long before I do! *cross fingers*
