Humpday Hell
Barely slept last night, despite having no heat my skin was too hot yet I wasn't sweating. More odd health crap. *eye roll*
Headed out this afternoon to run a few of the payday errands. Hit the feedstore to buy two 50 lb bags of layer pellet, dog food and pine shavings for the coops. The brooders are set up and ready for the chick delivery on Friday. *bites lip* I may just go ahead and get myself some straight run chicks. In fact, I think it would be a good idea for all of us. Already warned local folks, Feedstore opens at 8am. Shall we put it to a vote? I managed to get home before Kevin and Noah arrived at the house. Both showed up about an hour after I expected them, thankfully. :D
Kevin came over with his tool kit and got started on the furnace. Much percussive maintenance has been done, Maglites are a true wonder. We're still not sure what's wrong with it, but we have figured out that we can set the thermostat to the desired attention, then manually switch on the blower fan. Seems to work. Consulted with my father, who agreed this would work "until April or May when I can get out there and fix it for you". He suggested I just go ahead and let the blower run until it warms up. *boggle*
Noah came by ready to go. It'd been two weeks since his last visit, due to the ice storm so the coops were BAD. *shudder* Noah did his usual great job cleaning them out, refreshing the fill and handling Napoleon who is getting a bit too big for his britches. Its not that our little Sizzle cockerel is violent, he's just feeling his oats and testing boundaries. Noah's got plenty of experience with aggressive roosters and promised to let me know when he saw something that concerned him. So far, so good. *cross fingers*
Worn out and need sleep. Grange meeting tomorrow night.
