I'm planning a trip in May to the Berkshires to visit my folks and spend some time at their 2nd home in Vermont. Would you believe I still haven't been to that new house? Granted, from the pictures, it looks like Mom has created two of the same house, using the same colors and the same style of decor. I guess that's to be expected. I would have shaken things up a bit, but then again, these houses are only a little bit over an hour's drive from each other. I'm not sure I see that point of that, but then I don't have the funds to have a 2nd house so I'm really out of field here.

This will be my first time traveling with Insulin and I've likely overdone it a bit preparing. My doctor's office is prepping paper prescriptions for TSA (aka the Gestapo). I already have the extra vials of Insulin (unopened) and syringes. I've also bought enough sharps to last me until the end of the Summer. Finding alcohol wipes was tougher, with the Johnson & Johnson recall. I'm likely going to avoid J&J going forward, frankly. We have a really good independent, compounding drugstore here, which carries things like diabetic travel packs w/ cooling packs, modest little individual syringe cases that look like pens and an eyeglass-like case for empty syringes and vials. I bought one of everything for maximum flexibility. And, let's be honest, I'd have stood there for hours trying to decide between them otherwise.

And then I bought a new Baggalini purse, tomato red, to store it all while I travel through TSA checkpoints, airports and planes. And a new pair of heavy duty walking shoes, Timberlands, to match the cute little blue Baggalini backpack Mom bought me last month. And I still need to buy socks, because Alicia will strangle me if I take my 100% cotton ones. I need a haircut and likely some color because I wear sunhats all summer and only the ends of my hair lighten up in Summer and that looks like I'm too lazy to have my roots re-touched. And Gods know, if I show up with dark roots (even if they are natural), my mother will drag me to her hairdresser and give me a Mini-Mom Makeover. *gag*
