We've got a Versailles, Missouri, as well. It's pronounced "Vuhr-sales". Also in the local area, we've got a Paola ("Pay-oh-lah") and a Nevada ("Nuh-vay-duh"). Somewhere in the state, there's also a Duquesne. I have asked people not to tell me how they pronounce that.
