I'm sure they weren't there last summer, our first in the home, but the front window bed is sporting a dozen poppies.

Oddly, now that you mention it, on Tuesday our friends brought over a border collie puppy they were dog sitting. So while we're toiling and busting our collective asses to extend the rabbit cage, we had an attention whore of a puppy following us around, attacking our jeans and howling if we set her in the cage with us.
