We've received two emails from the Fraudnerian group in Seattle, called the "Temple of the Dark Moon".
Here's their claims: "We are a Gardnerian Orthodox Coven. Our Divination is of priestly
Druidism. we are a secret Order and follow a secret agenda. We are Polytheistic. We teach a philosophy of Celtic-specific Wicca and use a teaching grade similar to the Golden Dawn traditions.
We are a member of the Aquarian Tabernacle Church of Index, Washington. We live in community on private acreage off Highway 20, near Hamilton Junction (Skagit County), Washington. The Coven's founder and myself are initiated Gardnerians who have been trained in ceremonial magick and traditional craft. The High Priest holds the "Black Wand of Master and Sorcerer". He has a Ph.D. in Religious Sociology and two M.A.'s in Metaphysics and Wiccan Religious Studies. He holds legal Priesthood Certification and Ordained Ministerail Credentials. He is a graduate of
Woolston-Steen Theological Seminary. I myself have a M.A. in Fine Arts and also hold legal Priesthood Certification.
No, its gets worse: " The final test you must now pass, to prove you worthy of us, is
the first law of the Wiccan Rede, "In Perfect Trust". This is your test of perfect trust which you are expected to comply without question. You will take five $100.00 bills, place them in an envelope
(be sure to fold a sheet or two of paper around the bills so as not to been seen through the envelope), write a contact phone number and your mailing address on the sheet of paper, mail the envelope to me at the following address.

Date: 2006-11-08 05:11 am (UTC)Gods this is just insane! Granted, the Teen profile on Witchvox should have been warning enough for this Seeker, but damn.
Just damn.
Obviously, our upline is notifying Eddie & Company from A&J, but there's probably very little they can do about this guy and Witchvox refuses to get involved.
hmmm My immagination

Date: 2006-11-08 04:10 pm (UTC)Honestly, at this point, I just feel sorry for the Seeker. She was crying when she called me last night to tell me about the emails, though this may have finally knocked off that last bit of naivete as to finding a BTW coven by herself.

Date: 2006-11-08 07:14 pm (UTC)man have they gone downhill......ok, i wont send any more seekers to witch vox.
if you forward me the emails (kirsten@fabricdragon.com) i will send them along to a few folks i know. They are not BTW but they are pretty good at getting scam artists shut down. From the sound of it this is every bit as much a scam as the guy who posted offering to "Initiate" girls in a nice secluded park....this one is just money, not sex. Pure scam, lots of buzz words, not one of us in any sense. Therefore not even remotely under the "solve it in house" rules in my opinion.
Seems someone needs a lesson
Date: 2006-11-09 04:22 am (UTC)That is absolutely disgusting. I was rolling my eyes and spitting until I read that they had taken a seeker. Now I'm just mad.
And the Vox won't pull them? Even with the 'teen' listing? I wonder if all of us dropped them an email at once if it would make a difference? I understand they don't want 'politics' but no one is asking them to pull because they are claiming Gard, they're asking them to pull because they are fleecing seekers of money and maybe more (hence the 'teen' ad).
