I keep plugging away at my writing, but I'm just not getting anywhere in anything I've been working on. Apathy has set it, or maybe its ennui - hard to say, really. A bit of SAD isn't unusual for me, but this is a bit much for my tastes. Speaking of which, I've been feeling incredibly cut off from my senses right now, so I tried a bit of incense making this evening. I made a batch of High Altar today which although subtle is very nice, but lost interest in it soon after. I really need to put an order in for supplies, especially for that big bunch of Kyphi I've been promising everyone. What I got in the last order wasn't enough as they're still back-ordered.

Gods...gotta get out of this funk. I'm way too old to Emo.

The writer's block thing has been plaguing me for months...And while I'm not writing great guns now (see my update in a moment), I am getting out of it a bit. I hope to spend at least part of either New Year's Eve or New Year's Day writing, to establish a good precedent for this coming year. I'm WAAAAY behind on all of my projects...!

Incidentally, do you know where one can get either narcissus oil or narcissus incense? I really need to get a hold of some...

We keep talking about a writer's workshop to be held on Sundays at the bookstore twice a month, you know.

As far as narcissus aka daffodil: its one of those problematic herbs/oils in the industry, i.e. you'll need to double check that the oil is made specifically from daffies vs a floral concoction they are refering to as Narcissus after the myth. Soma Luna offers the oil, but you'll have to ask about it:

I've bought oils from them before and been very satisified, though watch their shipping costs - they can get mysteriously high without warning.

When buying dried narcissus for incense making, make sure you're actually getting daffies. Chances are you'll most likely be given something that's actually blue violet petals and leaves, which may or may not be an issue for you. Obviously, given how close we are to the tulip capital of Washington you may be better off waiting until spring to buy daffies yourself to dry. We grow a hell of a lot of daffies here at the house, so lemme know if you can wait until after the flower and I'll dry them for you.

It's hitting a lot of us 'bout now.
