Fostering a baby cottontail

This Fall, a friend brought us this little cottontail bunny that her cat caught. We kept Lucky in a hamster cage for almost a week so she could recover before letting her go and live under the backyard blackberry bushes. We've seen her a few times since then and hope to see her with a litter of her own this spring.

That is the cutest Fluffy Bunny that I have seen in my whole life. If she has her own litter, I think that I want to start my own!!!

When kitties bend their rear feet down, I call 'em "bunny feet." You're right - that's the killer.

About every other month, I have to trim the fur on the bunboys feet so it doesn't dred. So I stretch out on a recliner, put the bunny on his back and sort of hold on to him with my legs and trim their feet.

Mostly, they ignore it as I give them a nice piece of dried papaya to chomp on. But its probably one of the zaniest situations I find myself in, and that's saying something around here.

Trimming bunnyfoot fur. Something that doesn't work on your resume.
