We're two houses in from a corner, which means our home shares boundaries with five different neighbors three of which are on the North property line where the fence has been horribly storm-damaged. I wanted to touch base with them and let them know an Insurance Agent may be coming by to get permission to photograph the fence from their side. Everyone was very understanding. Had a nice chat through the fence with our new neighbors, who was telling her kid he had to finish his chores before dinner. I yelled back "my chores are done!" which made her crack up and smile through the gap at me. Good first impression, I think.

The fence is now tilted about 15 percent towards their property - not fun. I am not looking forward to telling Josh about this, with everything else going on. I was happy to hear she didn't mind Flash howling at the rising sun. In fact, she thought it was cute as she's up and dressed drinking her coffee when he begins. Like me, she also enjoys our neighbors roosters and cows bawling in the morning hours.

Thank Gods for understanding neighbors. I promised to walk him over tomorrow (its dusk now) to introduce them, she's been petting his nose under the fence. We're going to experiment with keeping the dog door closed from the time Josh goes to work until after dawn, just so he doesn't wear out his cuteness.

It's nice to have good, friendly neighbors. Of course, I wouldn't know because I'm a cranky old bitch who has nothing whatsoever to do with them, but once upon a time in my childhood I recall having good ones! :)

Hee hee - well, we're like that with the neighbors with the wackadoo loud teenagers next door, and the asshat on the corner.

The thing about rural neighborhoods is that we're used to quiet country nights and will defend them. We're spoiled and tend to readily ignore the fact that we signed papers when we bought our homes acknowledging we lived in an agricultural area and were subject to agricultural noises.

Give me a loud barking dog for hours at 3 am and you'll see how much of a cranky old bitch I can be.
