A bit about our Full Moons...
Jul. 25th, 2005 11:03 amJust for curiosity's sake, and a few requests via YIM, I'll go ahead and describe our Full Moon Rituals around here.
FMRs at the new house started out with the hubby and I enjoying the Pavillion in the backyard (it rains here - a lot). Our BTW teachers require a FMR and I had gotten in the habbit of doing them solo, so I had to re-vamp it to take the hubby into account. Then Ange started coming, so we came up with the monniker "Element Priestess" and put her in charge of them!
We all prefer our rituals after dark, with the judicious use of an overhead light. Our FMRs are decidedly low ritual - as we don't do invocation and we do a minimum of energy raising (healing, prosperity, etc.) given that Ange and the hubby are still learning ritual dynamics.
Our FMRS, in a nut shell:
1. Pajamas are highly suggested, ritual dress is optional - no street wear!
2. Include a reading from various Charges, Invocation poems and classic works while we enjoy cake & ale.
3. Are decidedly creative in terms of cake and ale: peach wine, microbrewery beer, biscotti, sugar free chocolate cookies - whatever we can cram into the symbolism of the current sabbat!
4. New folks must be vetted before being invited, though new folks are welcome once that has been done.
5. Laughter is required, no too serious rituals around here!
