An actual entry...shockers
Mar. 22nd, 2006 11:36 amSpent quite a large portion of yesterday weeding with Danielle and will, most likely, do so again today. Lots of creepy crawlies and mold to be found in those old beds, which to be honest, was a bit scary for this city gal! After shucking the snails out into the Spiral Walk for the birds, we made a fairly gross determination that Tracker had been eating them! With me, now: "Ewwwwwww!" Snail breath on a basset (*shudder*) is really not an acquired thing.
We managed to free up the rose bushes and plant the heather along the front of the house (the white) and the border out front alongside the driveway (the purples). I've been focusing on trimming the bushes and planting herbs, etc. Danielle, stuck as she is in a small apartment (courtesy of Navy Housing), is more than happy to weed as long as she has tunes - so this works out for both of us.
I'm working on archiving the 2005 to current editions of the "Touchstone" the OBOD's newsletter. Each runs about 15 pages, so I should be able to finish these by the end of the week. I haven't, as yet, taken the time to read through one cover to cover (I've been reading snatches) but they appear to be quite well done.
