trystinn: (Family)
Wednesday catch-up: Danielle and I spent a few hours nailing boards to help Josh with the re-installation of the fence, managed to tweak my foot again. Must remember NOT to stand on tiptoes while nailing boards over my head. Simply must. Afterward, as we promised Anna we would, we washed both Tracker and Gracie. The former helped not at all, the latter is nice and shiney. Tracker, well, Tracker is still Tracker and still stinky. All we really managed to do was put a shine on the funk, to be honest.

Anna is a lifesaver. Not only is she coming over to help us relocate the buns and start a proper compost, but she and her hubby are coming over on Saturday to help with the barn raising - I found a lovely little gift from our yard - an abandoned nest with three tiny eggs in it in perfect condition. Added to that, a tiny bird skull I found gardening in the front yard. There's a strange paradigm in witchcraft where giving someone a nest filled with dead eggs and a skull is a gift, don't you think?

So far today, Danielle and I cleaned up the library/ritual room. Lots of sweeping, dusting and re-arranging of the altar cabinet. I really need to thin out the altar and witchcraft stuff, so major gifting should be occuring this year. I also really need to get back to the basics of actually practicing witchcraft that isn't specifically directed by coven training.

On a lovely bright note, I had an errand to run at the Navy base and while waiting, I looked out the window and saw dear moving over the hill. Beautiful, near tamed dear about 20 feet outside the window. Then again, driving out along the beach roads, another deer just standing by the road nodding as we drove by. There's something about watching deer that just drains the stress away.
