DVDs and artillery
Jan. 11th, 2007 12:52 pmMarriage is just about the strangest form of warfare ever created.
Today's example: At some point, Josh and I decided to join an online movie club and given that there was little way he was going to give up dropping by Blockbusters on a whim, we went with them vs Netflix. And have been singularly impressed, as they have had just about every indie I've looked for, plus all of Josh's shoot 'em ups. Not only can I order DVDs to watch via the website, we can go into either of our two (yep, Oak Harbor has TWO Blockbusters, on the same street oddly enough) stores and switch them out for whatever they have in stock for free. And because Blockbuster online is just a teeny bit behind on their record keeping, we often end up with four or five DVDs instead of our mandated three. Bonus!
However, what I have noticed, is our DVD queue has become a rampant front line in the battle between the sexes. Choices I've made suddenly either get downgraded to lower on the priority list or disappear entirely. Another fun one: Josh will blithely go in and swap out DVDs for things on our queue, but not remove them from our queue. We have literally watched a movie only to get it again in the mail 2 days later. I must admit, I cannot take the high road in this, as I take every advantage to order indies that aren't shown around here and are unavailable in the stores despite the fact I know Josh probably won't like them on that rare chance he does.
Hey, its happened: Kiss kiss, bang bang he adored. Phbbbllllttt!
However, that said, I locked the keys in the car with the engine running this morning, so the war is definately in his favor at the moment. Thank the Gods for AAA!
