Went over to Deb's this afternoon to loan her the big rabbit cage, now that Zen & Peony are safe and happy in their new home. After we were done setting it up and had moved her bun into the new cage, I looked over at the base of the empty small cage and realized something was moving. That something was six little baby buns. One grey, one brown and four black ones! Just a few days old, plump and joyous! We quickly moved them in with Mama bun, careful not to touch them. Hopefully, we haven't bothered them too much and Mama Bun will continue to take great care of them. We'll leave them alone for another week or so, then I'll try to get some pictures.
To think: If Deb and I hadn't rescued the little gal from those horrid people, her babies would no doubt have been killed or even eaten by her siblings.
Jews have a saying, he who saves a single life saves the world entire. By taking in an injured, neglected rabbit she's saved an entire world. Its a small world, granted, with six new residents.
