The Thunder Rolls
Jul. 3rd, 2008 01:47 pmThe storm continued through the evening and now into the afternoon, with rain and thunder attending it. The wind is absolutely still, not a single leaf or branch is moving. The smell is amazing - between the firs, cedars and grass its smells like Creation.
The rabbits have gone into hyper feed mode. This may be due to the temperature dropping ten degrees to about 54F or their own instincts alerting them to prepare for additional storms. The cottontails, for instance, are safely tucked away out of sight, knowing we've another three days of storms expected. Fortunately for our rabbits, they have me to keep them fed no matter what Nature throws at us.
Fortunately I have lots of books to keep me organized. I'm about half way through "Absolute Sandman, Vol. 2" and two new PBS books have arrived "The Once & Future King" which I haven't read since I was a kid and "The Altar of my Soul".
Now if I only had some chippies!
