Yesterday when I picked up the blood pressure cuff, I grabbed a crinkle tunnel for Libby as the dogs keep stealing her felt mice. Dear Gods, I should have bought one of these things a month ago. She's been rolling around in it, pouncing on it, attacking the dogs and ankles from it and generally exhausting herself thoroughly ever since I first put it on the floor. She and the dogs have already figured out a game where a dog hangs out on either end and she races back and forth between the two of them, pausing to pop out the middle hole and whack the unsuspecting dog on the noggin. She's an absolute hoot.

The dogs are exhausted and have headed back to bed with Laura.

Bring somewhat sparse in handing out compliments, let me say that I have been highly impressed with how this Jury service was handled. Twenty-five folks showed up for jury duty, we were treated with incredible respect, friendliness and informed at every step by the staff. We were even asked if there was anything they could do to make us more comfortable! Hell, that's less than an airline would do these days!

Within 45 minutes of checking in, we were released for an hour while the lawyers spoke to the judge and upon checking back in at 10 o'clock we were thanked for our service, invited to stay to hear the case if we wanted to and released from jury duty for another year. As a high point the Sheriff who was called as a witness, shook our hands and thanked us for being responsible citizens. Now it might be an election year, but that was a classy move by anyone's standards.
