State of the Tryst Inn: Hot Tuesday
Jul. 28th, 2009 12:03 pmAccording to Weather Underground, it's 85.5F a few blocks away at the municipal airport. We're closer to the water here and under tree cover, but that likely only saves us a few degrees at most. The dogs are napping through the worst of the heat, I'm sitting in the dining room under a fan with another running in the living room to keep the dogs cool. I'm mindful that as a Diabetic there are complications when it's this hot, so I'm drinking plenty of water and staying cool, with minimal physical exertion. I don't sweat much, which can be another complication so anyone coming to the house should expect minimal clothing! The twins are indeed out. :)
Gabriella has been rather quiet. I let her out last night for an hour, she had a marvelous time running around the living room, jumping up on the sofa and running over Gracie. Libby tried to play with her, but that scared Gaby who jumped up on my lap for protection. That was awfully quick. Perhaps I haven't realized how skittish her feral period has made her that she'd trust a stranger so fast.
The ducks are hanging out under the tree line, trying to stay out of direct sunlight. I filled all the watering spots last night and have been checking every few hours to check. The rabbits are doing well and drinking a LOT of water.
