A few times a week, someone drops off veggie tops and extra produce from their gardens for the bunnies. Sometimes it's a friend, sometimes it's someone from the sustainable co-op that heard about us and wanted to donate their surplus. I'm never quite sure who it is, as I come home to find bags of produce on the front porch. The gift of the Buddha is alive and well here. In response, I've decorated up the front porch a bit with petunias and will be re-filling the planters with seasonal plants this week. If folks are going out of their way to donate a bag of veggies to the buns, the least I could do is give them a charming porch to put it on.

New rabbit - Gabriella
Jul. 27th, 2009 06:44 pmThis little gal, a chestnut agouti mini-lop, was brought in today by a nice pagan gal who caught her on the Naval Air Station. Predictably, she was covered in fleas, really underweight and dehydrated. After a flea shampooing, toweling off and introducing myself she gladly submitted to a half dozen syringe-fulls of cool water.
Here's a pic of her being bathed in our kitchen sink to show you how tiny she is:

Here she is grooming after her bath, protected by Cthulu - destroyer of SPOs:

As to her name, Kevin who has built and repaired many a rabbit enclosure asked to name her.
