Invasion of the Ducks

I finally managed to get pictures of the ducks overtaking the patio without startling them off it. I was hoping to get a few more shots: of the ducks searching for edibles among the stacked wood, the ducks trying to navigate down the steps (steps & ducks don't mix without hilarity) and the ducks giving up on the stairs and just flying down from the porch to the ground (video, obviously). So there's something to look forward to!

At some point, we'll likely have to consider some sort of duck-proof gating to keep them off. Right now, I don't mind hosing off the porch every day but during the winter this will get tough. Also, that horrid green porch is scheduled to be re-painted a lovely sandy tan.
