Five yard denizens in my living room
Jan. 30th, 2010 09:38 amOur neighbors are off at church camp this weekend, so we're taking care of Scooby - their unaltered dachshund. Thankfully, our dogs happen to like Scooby and Libby adores taunting him so Josh brought him over to play for a few hours. Scooby is an only dog, so he's having the time of his life. Gracie and Boo are off having adventures with Kevin and Josh, so I'm home with the three younger boys at the present.
Three hound dogs rough-housing is a sight to see! They are wrestling and racing around the coffee table playing their own version of NASCAR. Libby is watching with varying levels of interest from the coffee table and plotting her own version of 'death from above' as she leans over to swipe at tails as the hounds go running by.

I'm so proud of our boys. We've spent so much time and energy to make sure they are properly socialized so we can do things like this with our friends' dogs. I tend to think of the bassets as small, so watching this tiny little dachshund (he's smaller than Libby) hold his own is really awesome. I'm keeping an eye on things to make sure the bassets don't gang up on Scooby or lay on him too much, mostly he's just a dark blob streaking by.
