Minor annoyances
Oct. 19th, 2010 10:26 amI was going over a few bills this morning and realized that the cafe where Kevin and I had lunch this weekend charges us TWICE for lunch. It looks like they charged us the pre-tip lunch amount, then the lunch + tip amount. Which makes for a very expensive Monte Cristo & Turkey Club, let me tell you.
And before someone asks, yes, I do memorize lots of little details other folks don't. I can tell you which of my professors tends to wear mis-matched socks, who wears a Movado Museum Watch and who forgets to put their earring in after chatting on the phone. That's the problem with a really good memory - you remember the stupid details, as well as the important ones. Usually the stupid stuff stays longer. Oy.
I rang the Cafe to discuss this with their manager, who isn't in yet. *eye roll* I left a very detailed message with someone whose English was very poor (didn't know the alphabet well, at all), who likely screwed the whole thing up as I had to correct every item (aka my name is Trista, not Trieta). Hopefully, we'll get this fixed soonest.
Frankly, when I worked in restaurants and inns, I would have caught this sort of duplication. Whoever does the night books over there is sloppy and lazy.
Update: They've processed a refund, gonna take a few days for Visa to reimburse me. Very apologetic, but thankful I knew what had happened so it was much easier for them to find the problem and correct it.
