trystinn: (Eggs)
I woke up two hours before folks were to arrive, to get things prepped and start the pond pump to empty the pond. I didn't want anyone stepping backward into the pond, given how close it is to the West Wing's exterior fencing. Tiger's husband, Jim, was first to arrive so I walked him around Bunhalla explaining what needed to be done and basically just put him in charge of the project. Heather and family were next to arrive, Jeramy headed out to help Jim yank out the old fencing. Poor Erryn and her brother, James, got stuck in the Tulip Festival (I hadn't realized that was this weekend) traffic, so poor things arrived late and starving. Thankfully, Tiger and I had prepared a veritable feast: three quiches, egg salad, a party platter of California rolls and a chicken and wild rice casserole. I also had Panini fixings on hand, just in case. We got everyone fed, then back out to Bunhalla.

We managed to re-fence the entirety of the West Wing of Bunhalla, including moving the bunny cabin. We didn't get to the East Wing, but Jim, Noah and I figure we can knock that out ourselves during the week. The main job really was the West Wing, all that's left on the East Wing is to divide the pens with two fence walls and re-fence the front. The exterior fencing should be fine.

Once the pond was empty, Noah ripped the hard pond liner out, backfilled the hole with dirty hay from the rabbit pen, then we ladies (Heather, Erryn and I) harvested the rocks to use to pin down the fencing underground. I need to get the pond stuff cleaned up and ready to go to whomever.

Now, I'm busted and need to get cleaned up. Hope to have pictures to post tomorrow - just too bushed tonight, sorry!
