Gratitude post - Shopping at Lonie's!
Today I'm grateful for Lonie, our elderly neighbor nextdoor. She's in the middle of an estate sale so she can sell her home, as she is living in an assisted care facility downtown now. Hearing them this afternoon sorting things, I went over with the baby bunnies to say hello and touch base. After much petting and cooing over baby bunnies, Lonie invited me to look around and take first dibs on stuff in the house, which I did. Much to the annoyance of my bank account, let me assure you. However, I do have a lovely dark green leather chair (sort of a cross between a Geneva and a club chair) with a matching ottoman. Perfect for our laurel green living room. Bonus points: Got both for $15
I also managed to pick out about $30 more dollars worth of tshockes. Mostly mixed semi-precious stones (for Josh's birthday, he collects), gorgeous Asian treasure boxes, a beautiful clay sculpture of a woman's head that Lonie did herself, brass gargoyle door knocker, glass floats and a host of little brass incense burners, etc. for the ritual cabinet.
Also, in case anyone is thinking to move to Whidbey: Lonie's house is gorgeous! 2000 sq feet, huge garage, 3 bedrooms (one's been converted into a studio with skylights, floor to ceiling windows, peg board wall and utility sink), 3 bathrooms, a natural stone entrance, wood stove, builts in EVERYWHERE, an adorable kitchen, huge walk in closets and a jet bathtub! If there was any way on earth we could afford it, we'd be moving in trust me! This is where I need to win the lottery or come into money soonest!

I can now get rid of Josh's incredibly ugly bamboo recliner! She hits, she scores! Go Jew-do, go Jew-do!I also managed to pick out about $30 more dollars worth of tshockes.
