Spent half the day with Wendy and Deb building rabbit exercise pens. Finished one entirely, though the nicest thing I can say about our efforts to attach chicken coop wire is that its done. I've got the wood cut and painted for another pen, just needs to be assembled and fencing wire attached. There's enough materials for perhaps another two pens - Deb wants one, so we'll get the wood cut and see what's needed. One of my neighbors owns a contracting business, when he comes up on the weekends he often brings wood scraps. I'm hoping to talk him into donating some for the cause.

Managed to finally find a local hay supplier (via the community board at Cenex farm supply) who offers bales for about $3 - Trystn, want one or several? These are somewhat lightly packed standard bales, which are great because I can actually toss them around without hurting myself. Something I cannot do with a long bale or one that's been very tightly baled. The gal who sold us the hay was fabulous (and has four dogs, daughter wants a bun for Christmas) - so made a friend to boot. Still have to move 5 bales from the van to the garden shed, already prepped a space for them. Got home and moved the two black female mini-rexes into it for the evening. I'll check on them in a bit but I don't expect problems. I was able to move Frasier into the two story cage, so he has more room. Hopefully in the next few days we can finish another pen so he can has one of his own to romp in.

Meanwhile, probably because of all this, my sciatica is acting up in both hips. Shit. You just can't win for losing some days. I'll have to deal with that at some point before it becomes an ER visit. I prefer chiropractic treatment, but I'm not sure my options under Tricare for that.

I know I'm not Trystn, but...

Yes, we would like one or several. Let's see how large they are, and how much can fit in our car.

I'll bet two, but bring tarps so we don't get your car all messy. Each are less than a yard across, about a foot high and deep.

For sciatica, you should take an anti-inflammatory like Advil and s-t-r-e-t-c-h.

Gently reach down to touch your toes.

Sit on the floor with your legs straight out in front of you or vee'd. Grab hold of your big toes and gently pull your torso forward.

Lie on your back (on the bed is okay) with your legs straight. Slowly lift one leg, keeping the other leg flat on the bed with the knee pointed at the ceiling. If you can, pull the upright leg toward you. Reverse legs.

Still on the bed with one leg straight, bend the knee of the other leg and gently pull the knee toward the opposite shoulder. Repeat on the other side.

Hold each of these positions for 10 seconds or so. You should feel a stretch, but not pain.

Do these stretches 2 - 3 times each day.

Ohhhhhh, those sound fabulous. Will definitely start on them daily. Will probably have to pick up some Advil in town today.

Did find myself an organic source for Flax Seed/Omega 3 oils so I have started taking on those.

Wow! Busy! I agree that you need to also take care of yourself, not just the buns.

Forward on comment from Gwen re: DPS
Hi tryst_inn I saw that you requested to join dot_pagan_snark earlier and it was rejected before I received the request so I've sent you an invite to let you in. http://www.livejournal.com/manage/invites.bml
