There's a loose pitbull and young lab, who were trying to get through my southern fence (bordering Loni's property) when I first spotted them. They are now running around the corner of Donald and Allyson. I called it into Animal Control, then made a call to our community office (hoping they might know the owners and could call them to corral their dogs) only to be told "oh yeah, I saw that pit running around loose yesterday".

Update: Animal control has the dogs now.

I'm glad animal control has got the dogs!

Is that one of yours in your icon? So cute! I miss my puppies :( When I moved out of home I had to leave the dogs with the rest of my family.

Yep, that's our giant Basset Hound Tracker. He's a complete hoot. We also have Gracie, a black border collie, and Flash, our mutant two-year old basset hound.

I adore well behaved dogs. The varmints that run the neighborhood and cause drama I'm not too fond of. :)

Oy the community office sounds so helpful... uh no.

I remember when we got the 6' fence around the back yard one of the gates had a gaping hole. Well wouldn't you know it a roaming pit mix ended up in our back yard. It seemed friendly enough (we remained inside) but that was confirmed when the Animal Control Officer came and the darn dog rolled over and offered her belly! Unfortunately while very friendly with humans it and another dog (a yellow mutt) did terrorize the rottie across the street.

We have since fixed the hole and added a 4' white fence in the front yard so our 2 Dobe's can have free roam. Weekends are great - no more people knocking at the door - they don't even come in the front gate! hehe

I'm glad animal control has them now - they didn't try and bother the buns did they?

Didn't try to bother them overtly, as they could have gone to the front gate on the north side of the house and been a fence away from the Bunhala buns. The rabbits on my southern porch are about ten feet away from the southern fence, which is why I was so spooked to see them trying to get through the fence! The rabbits are protected inside our backyard fences, where the dogs keep them safe but I don't want stray dogs inside my fences and fighting with my dogs. If you've ever seen a rabbit killed by dogs, you know how gruesome it is.

The two loose dogs were circling inside my driveway for about an hour before my dogs managed to spook them off with constant barking. It was at that moment that I did sort of thing - wow, if I had a shotgun with shells filled with salt that would be mighty handy right about now.

I stayed home until the call from Animal Control. Wasn't going to risk my dogs or my rabbits.
