All bunnnies, safe and sound

Some time around midnight, I saw Winken hanging out around Bunhalla. I'm sure I anthropomorphize rabbits quite a bit, but it sure did look like he wanted back in with his friends. I managed to slowly pursue him into a blind corner we'd set up earlier, so when I leaned down and grabbed him by the fur over his back, I knew I had him.

Unfortunately, Winken was incredibly scared at being grabbed this way. He screamed. I don't mean a single screech of annoyance, I mean a whole volley of ongoing screaming that shattered the night air. It was nearly impossible to imagine this little boy was making enough noise to rival the hounds of hell, and yet, by all accounts he was perfectly safe and sound. By the time I got him settled in my arms, we were both trembling. I walked him quietly over to Bunhalla and set him down, then stepped away. He stood there, breathing hard until one of the other boys came over and groomed him.

Oh dear Gods. Too much drama. I'll talk to Chris, we really need to get the new Bunhalla started before I lose what little nerves I have left.

At least he's home safe.

Even if he did deafen the neighborhood.

I could not do what you do. I like my rescues inside, and leashed outside.

My hubby is incredibly tolerant of me rescuing rabbits, but I think he'd balk if I tried to move another 9 rabbits on the house. He calls it the Noah maneuver - "only two! only two!"

Like a mother whose child is shrieking in a store, I'm sure Winken's yowling seemed much louder to your "it's night and I'm tippytoeing" sensibilities than it actually was.

Glad the little guy is home. Bad bun, no biscuit.

Good Tris, double Sidecar.

Yaaay for being safe! Not so yaay for the screaming... I didn't even know bunnies could scream. Then again, how often am I around bunnies?

Buns make an amazing variety of sounds: the hum, they purr, they growl, they mutter, they bark and they scream.

The purr is actually made by grinding their teeth together, but serves the same effect of a cat's purr.

That's cool. I knew they growled - I've heard Zen and Nyx do that lol. And you mentioned one of the Angoras barking. Of course now that I think about it I can see him standing on top of his dog house barking, growling and screaming at intruders lol

Well at least he's home safe. *laugh* It's amazing the amount of ruckus an animal can put up for not real reason. I have a cat who goes on attack if the dog slips because she thinks she's being threatened.
*HUG*

Sucks when they do it and freak you out in the process.

We're set to order materials on Wednesday, thank the Gods. I can't take anymore of this craziness.

I didn't know bunnies screamed!

Must have been a distressing sound. Glad all of the bunbums are back and safe, though.

I'm glad you managed to get them all back safely!

Thank you, me, too!

Picturing you and bunny screeching at each other in the night time ... ::grin:: Glad your bebes are all home safe and sound!

LMAO Now that would have been a sight and I can definitely hold my own in the screeching Olympics.
