Summing up my feelings on the Beijing Olympics

For more information on Boycotting the Beijing 2008 Olympics, please see here. For a list of companies sponsoring the Olympics in Beijing, here.

Lest we forget, the Nazis hosted the Olympics in 1936. Its not all fun and games, folks.

yup, me too.....
also, Readers Digest this month has a small article on how China is "buying" people out of their homes, demolishing them, and building new.... but the purchase price is not enough to afford to live in Beijing any more...

Sports = Booooring.

My uncle and a coworker went to China at the beginning of 2008 to check on the company manufacturing part of their products. The translator picked them up the airport and took them to the hotel with instructions to not leave the hotel, and if they wanted to go anywhere, they would have to ask for the translator to take them. Apparently this "nice" hotel had no amenities because they got yelled at by many people for going into the hotel's courtyard and were told to go to their room and stay there until the translator came back the next day.

It's going to be damned near impossible to boycott some of those companies.

Yep, its already proving difficult but I'm trying.

We seem to be right on schedule for a repeat performance. As I remember, they have 20-30 million more men than they actually need....

The modern games have been about politics since Berlin, anyway. Look at Munich in the 70's and even the US vs. USSR hockey match up in the 80's. Can we just go back to naked oil wrestling and the discus like old times?

I'll vote for naked oil wrestling, where do I sign?

I think we should start a petition. Hell, if curling is an olympic sport, WHY NOT naked oil wrestling?

Naked curling sounds good, too.

Wouldn't that be a tit bit nipply...?

*shudders* Ice based sports and nudity.....that can't end well.

Tell that to the polar bear club!

There was a time in my crazier, younger days that I actually wanted to do that.
