Libby Update - Day One

Libby got to meet Fudgie last night, who was most concerned about our newest addition to the Tryst Inn. After standing guard all night, Fudgie was all purr and friendly this morning so I'm hoping things are moving along nicely. She's not afraid of him, but I do want to make sure they are properly supervised for now.

Speaking of moving along, Libby finally had her first BM. Something I've been worried about, so I used the warm washcloth belly rub method on her around noon. And my oh my, does that work well. I'm not particularly concerned about worms as everything looks clear, but we'll take a sample to be safe.

Gracie has taken on nanny duty of Libby, even without the little cowbell on Libby's collar I can track her progress around the house by Gracie's wagging tail. Something Libby seems quite interested in chewing on, by the way. Fortunately Gracie seems quite satisfied to have this little monster hanging about. So much so, that when Libby is hanging about on my desk chasing a cat toy about or attacking the keyboard, Gracie is standing there whining for her kitten back. I'm incredibly concerned about her small size, so she has her first appointment this afternoon at a new vet in Coupeville I want to check out. Her big "test and vaccination" appointment will be August 25th with our regular vet up north.

Isn't it, tho'? I can just see it! Yay for Libby settling in so well!

She got a full health checkup today and did great!

Oh Good!!! Did the vet have a guess about age?

5 weeks, 1.2 lbs.

I think chewing on dog's tails is a kitten thing. My friend's kitten Chayse does that as well to their King Charles Spaniel, as well as tackle-pouncing it. And I do say I must agree with wendyzski about how adorable that image of Gracie whinning about Libby is :)

I will try to get a picture of it tonight.

Yaaay piccies!!

My first cat was a 4 week old kitten when I got her. She bonded with my white German shepherd, and the tail chasing antics were too adorable for words. I'm sure my dog would slow down and do a tail wag just for the purpose of having playtime.

I can't wait for more piccies.

btw, have you told Josh about the latest addition?

Nope, haven't mentioned it yet. I'm waiting to hear on whether or not Josh made Chief yet before mentioning it.

I wish Josh "G'luck onya" for his CPO Eagle and upside down Staff Sgt stripes
