knee update

Good news - I don't need surgery, the only portion of the injury that hasn't healed is the lateral collateral ligament (did I get that right?). So I've another dozen physical therapy appointments to work on that. During and until that ends, I'm to take two to three Ibuprofen a day for inflammation. Sadly, no refill on the Zyrtec despite my many protests.

Better news - this will heal completely and leave me with a perfectly healthy knee. Oh and the hospital finally got around to giving me another A1C test and even refilled my Glucophage.

The stars must have aligned, I'm considering playing the lottery since this is such a rarity.

You're unlikely to be able to get a refill on Zyrtec as it is now available OTC. :(

Done. Can't promise I'll post over there, but ya know.

Zyrtec is still available via prescription, so I'm still getting it refilled.

No worries, half the time I'm reading via my LJL friends feed over there, and then when I want to reply to something I have to do the juggle login stuff. Just makes it easier for me.

Thanks for the info on Rx Zyrtec, both me and youngest spawn have been on it for years, so I'll have the doc be sure to write a new Rx for it.

Anytime, figured since its free for me via Tricare you probably have a similar setup where you are.

You can get the OTC version of Zyrtec at Sams club - 2 bottles of 180 tabs each for $17.99. Not free like your scripts, but pretty cheap all things considered.

Yep, except for the thirty dollars round trip to the mainland to get to a Sams Club, ferry tickets are expensive! *grin*

Ohh, now that's a definite maybe. Lemme see what happens with Tricare and get back to you.

Want incense to barter?

She's got it free -- you and I probably couldn't get it at all for the OTC reasons you named. ::grin:: One small perk to our military families, for all we ask of them ... but hey, I hear that Sam's Club has them for $18/bottle ... :D

Yeah. The nearest Sam's Club is three hours away and includes a ferry ride.

Did the dr have anything to say about the amount of weight you're moving about with your knee when you're at the gym?

Otherwise, I'm glad to hear that you should be fully healed before much longer. Yay!

He was shocked. When he had me press against his arms with my legs, I almost knocked him off his feet. "Well, you've definitely not lost any strength in that knee!" Glad the counter was there to catch him.

Dr. Young credited the workout for strengthening the knee and quickening the healing. Granted, we've also been doing a bit of healing work on it, too.

Thank you!

Good to hear you're not needing surgery! Always good to hear when someone is spared that *grin*.

Sadly, it seems docs are rather afraid of giving out the meds even when you need em *grumble*. Mine didn't want to give me more codeine even though I still had kidney stones *grr*.
