Craftsman Angst

Some of you will remember my delight in buying a fabulous Craftsman Wet/Dry vac earlier this summer. July 10, 2008 to be exact.

Yeah, smell the air: It broke. No worky anymore. Won't turn on.

So I called the Navy Exchange where I bought it, they said call Craftsman. Who told me to call an Authorized Sears Dealer (obviously, we don't have a Sears on the island). Who told me to call the Navy Exchange again. Who told me they were so busy, they would take my number and call me back.

*headdesk*

And that is what passes for customer service these days.

Yeah, I'm to call back tomorrow morning so they can look up the receipt (the one in my manual somehow got separated).

I was absolutely shocked. I've tried it in a dozen outlets, I've never even heard of this sort of thing happening with a Craftsman.
