Thank God its Caturday

This morning was a chilly one, and I awoke surrounded by our little family. Libby, still small enough to fit on a salad plate, was curled up under the covers between Josh and I. Flash was farther down, under the blankets and between our feet. Gracie was curled up next to Josh, with her head on his hip.

We all slept in, not wanting to break this lovely moment with the toils of the day. Josh, being the ever-wonderful man of the house, got up to start the coffee and build a fire so I could stay snuggled in with the furkids. Dear Gods, the man even made turkey bacon!

Whenever I begin to feel a bit silly being so nostalgic over these sorts of things, I remember our dear houseguests who have shared with us their delight over bedding down and waking with a friendly, furry friend to keep them warm and company. How much they enjoy having a dog or cat curl up with them on the sofa so they don't miss their own so much while away from home. How much joy they get in helping feed the bunnies with us and being assigned a guest pet by furry committee while they are with us.

It's the little things, especially the little furry things, that make this place a Home. :)

I am vicariously blissed out.

Also: Heading over to the local House Rabbit Society "bunny briefing," which they do once a month at a nearby shelter. Should be a good source of information as I move my adoption agenda along. :)

Aww, thank you. :)

Sounds wonderful, please let me know how it goes!

I love kitty snuggles in the morning. Rolly is quite the cuddler. Pixel sometimes comes in for a skritch and a pet, but she's more standoffish.

I don't have another human living with me, so it's definitely the kitties that make my house a home.

That is totally true. It's not a home unless everything's covered with fur!

Im jealous i miss the fur...sort of.

I can bring some over with me, next time I see you. Or stock you up next time you come here. When will that be?

Oh man. I'd come and stay at your house any day!

You seem genuine and sensible and lovely and kind.

What's a turkey bacon? [/vegan]

Why, thank you! *blush* I do think this place is pretty special.

Some of my best memories as a kid were the myriad relatives who had me come visit, waking up in their homes and cabins with a cat or dog to remind me that this wasn't a strange place after all.

Josh and I rarely eat beef, we tend to go with non-beef meat items so instead of pork bacon we get bacon made with turkey.

furkids are definitely welcome, especially when it's cold out!

Oh yes! They warm the heart and the body.
