The Huntress Libby

Libby - 1
Rat - 0

The Bassets found it's corpse shoved under the coatrack about 10pm last night. Dear Gods, I had no idea they got that size here. I'm talking about half her size.

I am absolutely completely freaked out now. Thanks for asking.

Furkid Friday will be delayed a few hours until I stop shuddering.

She's fine, I checked her thoroughly for any bites or scratches and couldn't find any.

Having lived in NYC, I thought only sewer rats got this big. Geez, country rats = Yikes!

"See, Mommy, if you had just let me kill that bird the other day I might have been sated for a bit, but now, I had to send the neighbour's pet rat to heaven with some fava beans and a nice Chianti!"

Oy, honey, this wasn't a fancy petstore rat.

This was a plague-bringer.

At least you have the Bassets to find the bodies, eh?

Better than stepping on them with my bare feet, yes.

Libby: Finally, an opponent worthy of my skill. *licks paws*

Yes, pretty much.

Fudge's response - the Hunt is strong with this one. *returns to nappage*

Unfortunately, I read this not five minutes after I finished my dinner. Yuck.

At least your dog will take care of something like that. Mine would probably just howl until I came and did something abou it. *Shudders*

Ewwww! My SIL used to talk about the huge nasty rats they got in their house in Georgia. *shudders* The most we've gotten here is a bunch of mice. But that's nothing a good bit of poison couldn't handle.

I can't use poison on our property with the dogs and rabbits. :)

At least your furbabies go after the nasties (and birds). I once came into my daughters bedroom to see the cat lying on the bed, watching a mouse drink from the cats water bowl. Had no clue that she was suppose to chase them.

[identity profile] tryst-inn.livejournal.com 2009-03-14 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
Since both our cats drink from the beta's bowl, I reckon ours are somewhat similar. :)

[identity profile] paigemom.livejournal.com 2009-03-14 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Holy crap. That's just...holy crap.

[identity profile] tryst-inn.livejournal.com 2009-03-14 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
That was practically my response, though with a bit more cursing involved!

[identity profile] frauholla.livejournal.com 2009-03-14 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
At least our cat, Ivar, makes the evidence disappear. I would hate to think about all the little bodies that could be scattered around.

Libby wants credit for her hunts, I gather.

[identity profile] formerlyfb.livejournal.com 2009-03-14 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Our mice have learned to play dead. Clio isn't interested in them at all if they aren't fun to chase.
