I'm actually quite impressed with a couple of new shows I'm enjoying, listed here with some description. Given that I've always hated network tv and really prefer documentaries, you may infer as you like.

Cupid - a very Guido-like Eros has landed in NYC to pair up pessimistic New Yorkers. References to Zeus "off his meds. Again.", his mother "she brought lots of Uncles around, it probably made me a bit commitment shy", and watching him pair up folks without actually using any Godlike powers. Just his amazing ability to network, which is amazing. Oh, and he's a bartender with a crush on a local psychiatrist (who thinks he's delusional since he tells her he's the God of Love). Gently charming, lots of good snickers.

Life After People - My cynical little anarchist-wannabe soul loves this. Imagine all human life on Earth is gone (isn't it lovely?), this show explores how things will revert back to the wild. Which animals will survive (horses & elephants escaped from zoos) and which ones won't (dogs will revert to mutts within a few generations). Each episode takes two cities or areas at a time, then watches them destroy over time - Kudzu takes over the SouthEast, LA becomes a desert again, Washington D.C. reverts to a swamp, Long Island floods. The Gargoyles on the Chrysler blg begin dropping to Earth after 50 years, fossils are being eaten by Pyrite and destroy the dinosaur bones in museums. Oh, and the beer explodes. What else do you need to know?

Top Gear - Listen, if you're not already watching BBC's Top Gear just to see how the producers torture the guys with Challenges, I'm not sure what to do with you. Consider yourself strapped to a chair, given only ale to drink through a straw and pull up Top Gear Challenges on YouTube to laugh yourself breathless for awhile.

The Mentalist & Lie to Me - I'm putting these together for a reason, they are somewhat similar to each other. Both use their tricks of the trade (lots of NLP) to catch criminals, the former is a ex-tv psychic now working for the CBI (police) and the latter a professional consultant. If you've ever been amazed by folks who have done the "Making the Cross makes you Submissive" trick on you, you'll love these.

So what are you watching?

Burn Notice, NCIS, House and Bones are also on my list of faves. Also admit to loving Big Bang Theory, Flashpoint, Numbers and Ghost Whisperer.

I like House & Bones, but then I'm a mystery (especially medical) fan.
