The Duck Yard Day

It's a lovely mild day here in the Pacific Northwest, 52F/11C (aren't I nice, I offer Fahrenheit and Celsius for my Flist). The Khaki Campbell ducks are almost 8 weeks old, with the Rouens/Runner following closely behind at almost 5 weeks. Large enough to begin their career foraging in the yard for us. If I can convince them not to keep going back into their enclosure, or harder still, convince Gracie not to herd them back in herself!
Needless to say, I've put the basset hounds in the house for this little project. So armed with Gracie, our border collie, and my shepherd's crook we headed out.
First, we stop by the Circle to offer our morning prayers:


Then, we let the ducks out!

Date: 2009-05-30 09:45 pm (UTC)It's a bit on the rustic side, but we're quite pleased with it. The big trick is getting it cleaned out each Spring from tree branches that fell during winter storms, etc. and the occasional dog poop (though they tend not to do that anymore, thankfully!)
