Farm Update
I feel like the Count - Five little ducky eggs - muha-ha-ha! (Yes, Josh does this every time he gathers eggs, he's almost as weird as I am). Gorgeous eggs today, one a lovely tan.
It may be interesting to note, I found them all together at the far corner of the nesting shed in the little nest someone has built (no feather layer, though). Five eggs means 5 gals laid eggs, ducks don't lay multiple eggs per day, in fact they tend to work an alternate day schedule. The exception to this is fertilized eggs, which they will lay once a day for a few days in a row.
For the first time, Madame led the way to the compost pile. Poor big Brutus was about mid-flock (even little Bernie is faster than Brutus), the Magpies and Anconas raced to keep up with their faster flockmates. Much flapping and squawking was heard. I haven't seen any sign that they miss the Swedish drake, which is a good sign. On the other hand, Winken & Nod seem oddly subdued since Gabe was adopted. Poor fluffy guys!

Speaking of Pig, he's laying here next to me right now. He says hi and thank you. He's so protective of me when I have ppl over. He sits on me and won't leave. It's sweet.

Glad to hear Pig is settled in and doing very well. We always knew he was destined to a life of leisure!
