With a bit of wheeling and dealing, I've managed to sell two adolescent Khaki Campbell ducks with two free Black Copper Marans cockerels thrown in as a bonus. Yes, I could have sold them to her, but they were freebies to me and I like the energy of freebie-ing them to a welcoming home. MarkliAnn will be delivering them in person on Saturday.
Two less ducks and 2 less cockerels will help bring down the feed bill. Not a lot on a weekly basis, but should really add up in savings monthly.
This will bring me down to 3 pullets (females) and 3 cockerels (males) Black Copper Marans. Which is really great, as I have hopefully arranged for one pair to go with MarkliAnn's family to their Oregon farm to start their own BCM breeding program and the other to go to Louise, who will attempt to breed them across Penn Cove from me.
I love knowing I'm helping facilitate three breeding programs!
