Another soft rain day, lots of grey skies and little birds moving through the underbrush. I've taken the liberty to fill the birdfeeders, by this time any birds that wanted to migrate most likely have or at least that's the hope.

The area around our circle was used as a composting spot, as well as includes half-melted trash (I get the idea the previous owners burned their trash due to the large aluminum blob that was most likely a group of soda cans at some point). So after a half hour or so of walking around, I managed to find about two bags of not quite composted material, including plastic and glass. Glory, our collie, came with me, whining and kvetching the whole time in her old doggie manner. A bit of raking, and I found several decently sized rocks under the pine needles and leaves. These I added to the circle, by ringing them around the quarter post monoliths. At some point, once I'm further along cleaning the area, I'll try to do some balancing - but as these are rough-honed rocks and not smooth river stones - things probably won't go as well as I'd like.

I did find several cube shaped rocks, with wonderful sediment layers. Those I placed around the altar and will try to spend more time with them later. Its going to take me some time to finish working out there, but I do enjoy the labor of it.

The rabbits seem to be settling in to the rainy autumn without too much fussing. They stand out in the rain when they could be inside their house, still eat like bottomless pits and have started drinking even more water, so I've added another large water bottle to their cage. I'll shred more paper and add it to the rabbit house today, so they have more to snuggle in and keep warm with. We still have the large indoor cage if things get too chilly out there, though.

Much left to do today. Still have to make cookies for Full Moon this evening and the two hour drive there. Bought a lovely Blackberry Merlot for ritual. Hubby is supposed to be finishing the hoods on his robes, but is watching Full Metal Jacket instead. I'll give him some time before gently guiding him to the sewing machine.

I received an email from a new gal in the neighborhood looking for pagan community - turns out she's a Majestic, which is a sister tradition to ours and therefore a BTW cousin. Much laughter has been shared via email, including my HPs who is tickled pink to visualizing Whidbey Island gettiing a significant BTW community in the next ten years. We've scheduled a phone call today, and I can't wait to hear from her.

Off to make cookies.

Yep, already knew this - but not going to ignore you!

Trystn lives about three hours from me, and we haven't to my knowledge met, given that we travel in different pagan circles.

As folks have pointed out, the name similarity and geographic familiarity is ironic. :)

Thanks for the info. The reason why I was looking up Tacoma was because we have an open invite to go over next year. It may make your blood run cold but when I saw you were in the same state I thought we could kill 2 birds with one stone and invite ourselves to yours too :)
It is only a very vague plan so far so I am giving you plenty of warning if you need to move states/hemispheres :D

Nope, that would be a gas!

Fair warning, we're fairly rural, so our offerings are either very bohemian or very redneck.
