The Heat Wave Cometh

trystinnThe last two days have been unseasonably hot here (83F expected today), so we're all taking it easy. The guys are running mini errands in town, while I'm trying to avoid it since it's hotter there. The dogs are a bit droopier than normal and we're keeping them quiet. Very glad Gracie is shaved down for this.
The rabbits are the hottest of the outdoor critters. They seem to be spending a lot of time in their underground burrows, which is great. Were keeping lots of fresh water available for them and keeping an eye on things. They have plenty of shade and hidey holes, thankfully. The chickens and ducks are similarly doing well, hiding in the bushes and swimming.
Julie from grad school is coming by today, which will be great. Inanely, I'm feeling bad that I have no little ducklings to entertain her with. Or do I? Maybe it's time for another egg check. :D
