Update: As of a few minutes ago, Luca now has 7 ducklings! Still a few eggs left to hatch, hopefully. This brings our 2nd hatching session up to 11. :D

Now you've done it. I want ducks.

We've just hatched another large bunch of chicks. One hen decided to take over a clutch we'd been missing and she hatched nearly all of them ~ 7 chicks out of over a dozen eggs!

I pray we're all done brooding. I don't think we can handle anymore.

Ducks tend to be an acquired taste and not everyone acquires that taste. They are indeed messy, quite messier than chickens. But there's just something about them.

We've got one broody hen, a Rhodie, who is sitting on a nest of eggs that I'm not sure of the viability. *sigh* I need to go candle them and keep putting it off. If I had a line on some fertilized eggs, I'd just switch them out. :)
