A little bit of change is a good thing
Nov. 19th, 2010 02:46 pmNoah, the Farm Minion, is here to move the duck pen fencing from the front of Bunhalla (which is westward) to the back (eastward) along the north fence. We're doing this for several reasons. Firstly, because I think it will be dramatically better looking from the front of the house. Eesh. Secondly, I mean to have the Bantie Barn moved over there instead which should be a much nicer view from the front. It also gives the little chickens more sunlight as their pen won't be covered by Grand Firs. Granted, I'm going to have to hire folks to move the Bantie Barn and pen, can't really ask our guys to do it, again.
All of this means, we'll also have to move the in ground duck pond, though I'm thinking to hold off placing it in the new location for now. It can wait until Spring. The ducks can use the kiddie pool in the meanwhile. I'm going to wait a bit longer, then head outside and start the pump to empty the pond.
Update: pen is moved to new location, call placed to see when the crew can move the Bantie barn and pen. I've got 3/4s of the inground pond pumped out, so still a bit left to do there. I'll need to get an extension for the water line (roughly 15 feet) and have about an hour of raking, etc. to do. Otherwise, we're pretty good to go. Will confer with hubby to see what we're going to do about the old dog shed (the roof is rotted through) and the black nesting box. Meanwhile, I'm exhausted and dirty. Phew!
